How we work
DAILY WIP
We start work each day at 9:00am, and so we can start the day aligned and connect with each other there is a daily WIP that occurs at 9:15am. During this WIP, we go through which resources are booked for projects and call out any important information for the day. There is an invite that will be in your diary; however, should you need the link again, it’s below:
You can access the daily WIP here >
Forecast
As part of the daily WIP, one of the team will talk through what resources have booked for that day using our resource allocation program ‘Forecast’. This allows Account Handlers and Project Managers to book resources for their projects. If you don’t have access, please contact Ant or Matt.
Access Forecast here >
Slack (for daily communications)
Slack uses direct and group messaging as well as creating ‘channels’ which can be created to support a specific project or for more social reasons, like our ‘random’ channel, which is full of random goodness.
On day 1, you should already have an invite to join our workspace, however if you haven’t, you can sign in using the workspace below:
Harvest
Harvest is where we enter timesheets (Swordfish Media only) and open up new projects that link to Forecast. We’ll go through this with you down the page. If you don’t have access, please contact Ant or Matt.

I want to go into the office, how do I do that?
At Swordfish, we’re now predominately remote. However, should you need or wish to go into the office, you absolutely can. Mark which day/s you want to be in the office through the Office Booking sheet below and you’re set. Please note: the office has limited space, so if it’s booked out on the day you’re looking to go, please do not go in, or discuss with someone who is booked, if you can take their place.

I’m feeling sick, what do I do?
In recent times with COVID, the most important thing to do if you’re feeling sick is to stay home. Email or send a Slack message to Alistair or Yeilani, as well as your line manager if you need to take sick leave.
Engaging I.T.
We’re a growing business and although we’re at a steady growth rate, there hasn’t been a need to date for a dedicated I.T. support person. Our Head of Design and UX also manages I.T. questions, so please contact Matt if you have I.T. related questions.

Buddy System
On your first day, you’ll be assigned a buddy. It’s their job to answer any questions you have and show you around.
